Description
Summary:An analysis framework for leisure in peripheral societies proposes, from the historical framework, a wider view that locates the modern/colonial system-world as a scenario that makes visible a process that, according to authors such as Mignolo, Quijano and Dussel, started in the XVIth century when the Iberians came to America. In this context, leisure, connected to the civilizing process through practices, discourses and forms of knowledge, must be analyzed as it confronts local practices in those places where intervention take place, to investigate, furthermore, starting from its establishment, those forms that resist and make such a process problematic. Leisure, in its beginning moments, is located in places and historic moments that determine them.
