Summary: | La2Ce2O7/8YSZ double-layer thermal barrier coatings (TBCs), prepared by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS), had a much longer lifetime compared with the single layer La2Ce2O7 system under the burner rig test. The double-layer coating structure design effectively alleviated the thermal expansion mismatch between the La2Ce2O7 coating and the bondcoat. The failure mechanism of the La2Ce2O7/8YSZ double-layer coating was mainly due to sintering the La2Ce2O7 coating surface during thermal cycling. |
