Summary:We analyze generalized Gaussian cat states obtained by superposing arbitrary Gaussian states. The structure of the interference term of the Wigner function is always hyperbolic, surviving the action of a thermal reservoir. We also consider certain superpositions of mixed Gaussian states. An application to semiclassical dynamics is discussed.
