Summary: | T. Kelley's procedure ("A New Method for Determining the Significance of Differences in Intelligence and Achievement Scores," Journal of Educational Psychology, 1923, 14(6), 321-333) for estimating the % of differences in excess of chance was applied to two types of standardization data for Revised Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities lists: uncorrected & corrected data for the restricted intelligence range of the population sampled. Subtest comparisons with a % of differences in excess of chance less than 25% were recorded. Auditory reception, visual sequential, & sound blending subtests permitted the most legitimate comparisons for various age levels while verbal expression, grammatic closure, & visual closure permitted the least. 1 Table.
