The clinical efficiency of four oral breath pressure measures
Four types of oral manometric measures (positive, negative, manometer difference score, tongue-tip-outside-mouth) were determined for 75 cleft lip and palate speakers. Judgments of resonance balance for each of three groups (normal, mild imbalance, moderate-severe imbalance) were related to each of...

Summary: | Four types of oral manometric measures (positive, negative, manometer difference score, tongue-tip-outside-mouth) were determined for 75 cleft lip and palate speakers. Judgments of resonance balance for each of three groups (normal, mild imbalance, moderate-severe imbalance) were related to each of the manometer measures. Results of this study indicated that negative, manometer difference and tongue-tip-outside-mouth measures best differentiate patients with normal resonance balance from those with mild resonance imbalance. |
