Description
Summary:The adsorption properties of carbon-fiber busofite-type materials with respect to molecular iodine I sub(2) and methyl iodide CH sub(3)I are investigated. It is shown that compared with SKT-3 activated carbon the efficiency of molecular iodine removal from air using busofite is 3 times higher and the efficiency for methyl iodide is 1.7 times higher. For busofite impregnated with 1-3 mass% KI, TEDA, or AgNO sub(3) the efficiency of removal of CH sub(3) super(131)I (no carrier) increases by a factor of 2 and reaches 96-99.5% for 1-3 layers of busofite. The dynamical capacity of busofite with respect to CH sub(3)I is 8.5-10 mg/cm super(2) (250 mg/g), and the contact time on the first layer of the material is .0.08 sec.
