Summary: | This article investigates beliefs about language learning held by students of Arabic and their teachers at study abroad programs. Based in part upon the research design and instrument (BALLI) of Elaine Horwitz, this article includes the results from respondents in Morocco and Yemen. This research identifies students' and teachers' most strongly rated and significantly different beliefs. Findings of this study provide evidence that, in the case of this sample, students and teachers of Arabic do hold differing beliefs concerning language learning. These results may be useful in adjusting instruction techniques, curriculum design, evaluation, and articulation procedures between institutions. |
