Description
Summary:In this paper, a new distributed electronic on-board system for seakeeping studies is introduced. The system is based on a controller area network bus (CANbus) and includes motion sensors, actuators for submerged moving wings, an embedded personal computer (PC), a miniaturized inertial unit, and a digital radio link. This paper describes the system architecture and the main system operations along seakeeping experimental studies with a scaled ship. The on-board system can be applied to scaled or real ships.
