Summary: | Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) due to red cell hemolysis has been previously attributed to transfusion‐related hemolytic reactions, but not to autoimmune hemolytic anemia. We report a case of DIC in a child with complement‐fixing IgM‐mediated cold‐agglutinin autoimmune hemolysis, which resulted in arterial thrombosis and gangrene of the upper and lower extremities.
