Description
Summary:Mycosis fungoides (MF) and Sezary syndrome (SS) are the major types of T-cell lymphomas that arise in the skin. Mycosis fungoides was first described by Alibert in 1806, super(1) and the cutaneous manifestations of plaques, tumors, and generalized erythroderma were well described by early 1900s. super(2) Sezary syndrome, first described by Sezary in 1938, is characterized by generalized crythroderma and circulating arypical lymphocytes that have the same convoluted nuclei in the blood as in the skin. super(3,4) After Crossen et al demonstrated that Sezary cell and mycosis cells were lymphocytes, super(5) monoclonal antibodies (MoAbs) to lymphocyte antigens showed that they arise from the T helper subset of T lymphocytes super(6,7).
