Description
Summary:The purpose of this population‐based cross‐sectional study is to determine the prevalence and risk factors of urinary incontinence (UI) in women over 20 years old. The study was conducted with 800 women and the participants were stratified by age and residence. The data obtained from the study revealed that prevalence of UI was 32·4%, while the most frequently encountered type of UI was mixed urinary incontinence (72·6%). Logistic regression analysis results demonstrated the most important risk factors for UI as aging [≥50, Odds ratio (OR) 2·94, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1·68–5·13], chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (OR 2·90, 95% CI 1·15–7·34) and recurrent urinary tract infections (OR 3·30, 95% CI 1·94–5·61).
