Pain, mobility, and walking ability scores were significantly better in the THA group than in the BA group. Despite no range of motion limitation during the early postoperative period, no dislocation was encountered in either group. The present study suggests that for displaced femoral neck fractures, THA with a large diameter femoral head results in less pain and better function than BA.
