Summary: | The issue of stability limit determination as against stability limit testing analysis is discussed and the advantages of stability limit determination are outlined. Cyclohexane is considered as a representative naphthenic compound. In very few instances in past research works, its stability limit has been determined at a specified temperature. In this work, the behavior of the stability limit of cyclohexane is carefully traced using the Helmholtz stability criterion to establish a trend over a wide temperature range, which might be applicable to other naphthenic compounds. |
