Summary: | We present an algorithm for the synthesis of the light curve of a close binary system consisting of a red dwarf that fills its Roche lobe and a spherical white dwarf. The spherical component is surrounded by an elliptical accretion disk with a complex shape, geometrically thin near the spherical star and geometrically thick at the edge of the disk. The model is able to describe the shape of the secondary minimum in the light curve of the eclipsing variable KU Cyg, which has not been possible using other models. |
