Summary: | In the present study, fracture behavior of laminated bulk metallic glass (BMG) has been examined under three-point bending conditions. It was observed that as the thickness of the monolithic BMG is increased three times in layers, the rupture energy and fracture force increases about five times and four times, respectively. This considerable increase in the rupture energy as well as the fracture force is the consequence of hindrance offered by the strong compressive veins to the centrally radiating veins evolved out of the tensile region cores. |
