Formation of Hydrogen Cyanide over Cu/ZSM-5 Catalyst Used for the Removal of Nitrogen Oxides from Exhausts of Lean-Burn Engines
The role of water in the elimination of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) in the exhausts of lean-burn engines is examined through the use of simulated exhausts containing 10% water as met with real lean-burn exhausts. The presence of water in the exhaust gase does not eliminate the HCN formation problem.
