Description
Summary:The qualitative analysis of the elastic-plastic behavior of metal sheet is usually performed by finite element methods. These methods are often complicated because of large computational requirements associated with the use of realistic models. In this paper, an effective model based on the macro-mechanical properties of the metal blank and tool geometry is used to describe the anisotropic plastic flow of the metal sheet in plane stress condition. The model is derived from the fundamental deflection equation of beam/column. The model used to optimize the stamping process is designed to be as close to realistic forming conditions as possible.
