Summary:Pediatric obesity has become a widespread problem of health in developed countries. Overweight in the pediatric population obeys to a variety of causes. A few of Carreño de Miranda's paintings show pathological conditions occurring in children of his epoch. We briefly illustrate the significance of Carreño's paintings that portray some of these diseases. Two of his best-known works constitute an artistic representation of childhood obesity.
