Summary: | Life cycle carbon dioxide emissions from electric- and gasoline-powered vehicles are estimated with a process-relational model. The manufacture and operation of electric vehicles results in less CO sub(2) emissions relative to gasoline vehicles. The difference between electric and gasoline vehicle emissions changes markedly depending on traffic conditions; the difference becomes larger as the average velocity of vehicles becomes lower. |
