Summary: | Three polythermal sections have been constructed in order to give a fuller description of the structure of the phase diagram for the Al sub(2)O sub(3) - ZrO sub(2) - Nd sub(2)O sub(3) system over wide ranges in temperature and concentration, which indicate the character of the interactions in the ternary system. For Nd sub(2)O sub(3) - (50 mole% Al sub(2)O sub(3) - 50 mole% ZrO sub(2)) we constructed the structure of the phase diagram for the Al sub(2)O sub(3) - ZrO sub(2) - Nd sub(2)O sub(3) system in the region enriched with Nd sub(2)O sub(3), and also established the mechanism for the X H A phase transitions in the solid solutions based on Nd sub(2)O sub(3). The isopleth 20 mole% ZrO sub(2) (20Z) indicates the structure of the Al sub(2)O sub(3) - ZrO sub(2) - Nd sub(2)O sub(3) phase diagram system in the region adjoining the binary adjacent Al sub(2)O sub(3) - Nd sub(2)O sub(3) system. The isopleth 40 mole% (40Z) describes the structure of the ternary system in the region enriched with ZrO sub(2), and also the mechanism of the F T phase transformation for the solid solutions based on ZrO sub(2). These polythermal sections cross all three triangulating sections for the ternary system and indicate the behavior of the widths of the two-phase regions. |
