Economic aspects of the vacuum treatment of steel by VDF/VODF technology

Calculations are performed to determine the economic benefit from changing over to the traditional VD/VOD technology for the vacuum degassing of steel in ladles to the new VDF/VODF technology. A vacuum-degassing unit currently in use at the Severstal Metallurgical Combine is used as an example.
