Description
Summary:The dynamics of compaction in WC-based hard metals with cobalt binder during hot pulsed pressing is investigated theoretically and by experiment. A method is developed for theoretical analysis and computer modelling of the compaction of two porous viscoelastic bodies. Agreement of the results of modelling with experimental data is demonstrated. This modelling makes it possible to predict compaction conditions for porous materials in relation to impact machine characteristics, billet size, and the elastic and rheological properties of deformable materials. The mechanical properties of hard alloys are studied. There is a marked increase in strength and at the same time the Weibull modulus. The latter points to high uniformity of strength that should provide high operating reliability of hard alloys prepared by hot pulsed pressing.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
