Au nanoparticles on atomically smooth gold film surfaces

We have developed a method for producing an atomically smooth (surface roughness within 0.2 nm over an area of 1000 nm 2 ) gold surface and depositing Au nanoparticles (3–13 nm) on it via a self-assembly process.
