Summary: | The Nd:YAG crystal has successfully been grown in a pure argon atmosphere using Czochralski method with ADC (Automatic Diameter Control) r.f. heating. The effect of power control on growth parameters, which include the crystal rotation rate, pull rate and hot-zone geometries were investigated. A series of experiments were run with the rotation speed of the seed were 2 - 15 rpm and the pulling rate was kept constant at 0.75 mm/hr. All runs were made with growth along the c-axis 〈111〉 direction. The result shows that lowering the power control will accelerate the crystallization and larger the diameter and/or increasing the power control will decrease or smaller the diameter. |
