Discriminating paints with different clay additives in forensic analysis of automotive coatings by FT-IR and raman spectroscopy
Figure 6 shows the IR spectra of two China National Standard Materials: GBW03101a (one kind of clay minerals) and GBW 03121 (kaolin). Indicative peaks above 3000 cm1, 900-1000 cm1, and 1640 cm'1 were too weak to employ as qualitative peaks even with an MCT detector. For [Raman] analysis, both s...

Summary: | Figure 6 shows the IR spectra of two China National Standard Materials: GBW03101a (one kind of clay minerals) and GBW 03121 (kaolin). Indicative peaks above 3000 cm1, 900-1000 cm1, and 1640 cm'1 were too weak to employ as qualitative peaks even with an MCT detector. For [Raman] analysis, both samples were found to have serious fluorescence interference. Sample bleaching for 60 min and 3-9 accumulations were used in sample preparation to obtain better spectra. |
