Description
Summary:As people enter another year full of challenge and opportunity, they need to rethink what it will take to lead organizations into the future. It will take something radically new and different. They may have reached a tipping point where they must pivot from a leadership system that worked well in the past to one better suited for the times to adjust to some new realities. Jazz is the apt metaphor and appropriate model for this new leadership style. Leaders need to master a new set of skills, like those of jazz musicians, based on imagination, improvisation, and instinct -- an ability to go with the flow. Leadership system are: 1. freedom through abandoment, 2. creative chaos and collaboration, 3. improvisation, 4. mastering dynamic interplay, 5. deepening the dialogue, and 6. disciplined discovery. The leaders people need to guide them into the future need the freedom to act and serve in new ways that are suited to the times.
