Summary:Where the implementation of Obamacare is four years after the adoption of the law is discussed. The passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in March 2010, better known as "Obamacare", is the most ambitious reform of the Obama presidency. The first challenge of this reform was to make health coverage almost mandatory for all via a system of incentives and subsidies, while imposing new contractual standards for insurance companies and by ending their most abusive practices (underwriting), but without upsetting the interests involved and functioning US insurance models, based on the central role played by insurers and employers. The main flaws in the US health insurance system and the reasons for reform are discussed. The main changes introduced by the ACA and the audiences are analyzed. Finally, the implementation of the new law is examined.
