Summary:Russian-Polish international scientific and practical conference held in IMEMO in November 2014 was devoted to the modern trends in social and political developments of our countries. The reports and presentations of the leading researchers from four Russian and Polish institutions rationalized core factors of socio-political and socio-economic processes in the former socialist countries. The participants presented a parallel analysis of major developments in the various fields of social life in their respective countries during the post-socialist and post-Soviet transformation which were build on the experience of social and political transformation of Russia and Poland.
