Summary:Paging is by far the most competitive wireless service, with several providers in most markets and more than 8 nationwide providers. The Personal Communications Industry Association and its messaging industry members face a constant uphill battle explaining the paging industry's unique needs and characteristics to regulators. In the past year, there were several cases in which the PCIA and its members fought battles in the regulatory arena, dodging burdens intended for other segments of the telecommunications industry.
