Record-breaking temperatures challenge MWD/LWD tools

The use of Measurement-While-Drilling (MWD) and Logging-While-Drilling (LWD) technology has become well accepted. Until recently, temperature limitations have precluded its use in deeper HPHT environments when temperatures exceed 150 degrees C (302 degrees F).
