In its simplest form, third-generation wireless networks (3G) can offer users a wide variety of products, services and features beyond the basic ability to make phone calls and store voice mail. Web browsing, e-mail, games, maps and ring-tone downloads are some of the most common applications available today. As 3G begins to take hold and services proliferate, the question becomes whether wireless carriers' existing risk-management tools and techniques are sufficient.
