Summary: | The increasing complexity of pharmaceutical products and pursuit of greater quality control for manufacturing processes call for new and improved analytical instrumentation. One of the highly promising analytical techniques in this area is dielectric spectroscopy. Already a proven technique for several decades, it continues to evolve, being both technology-driven and demand-driven. On one hand, new generations of dielectric spectroscopy sensors become possible because of advances in microtechnology, material science, and sensor data fusion. On the other hand, new application parameters are posed by a rapidly developing pharmaceutical industry. This tutorial paper is meant to aid in the dielectric sensor selection process.
