Summary:After seven long years and $23 million, Peekskill's Hudson Valley Hospital Center (HVHC) has completed an extensive renovation and expansion. The work will soon pay off, according to hospital president John Federspiel, who said HVHC is well-prepared for the next century. The hospital has added to its facility 60,000 square feet, in which the emergency room, operating rooms, and laboratories will be housed. Each of the departments, according to Federspiel, has tripled in size in the last few years. The addition represents a 60 percent growth in the hospital's overall capacity. (excerpt)
