Summary: | While much talk has centered on competencies in the health care field, few executives have a sound understanding of the critical health care competencies for various career levels and management occupations. In addition to cost savings and higher-quality care, the establishment and use of competencies has the potential to change several aspects of the health care field. On an individual level, competencies can be a benchmark to identify personal levels of accomplishment and help the health care executive prepare for advancement. Executives all along the career path should be able to see how they measure up relative to these competencies. |
