Summary: | Smith updates on the status of the educational technology in the state of Montana. The state provides no money to support school districts' instructional technology, resulting to districts such as the Bozeman school district, which recently received $646,000 in federal money to buy Plato Learning software after requesting help from US Sen Conrad Burns to meet the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind Act, to turn to other sources for help. Meanwhile, the JASON Project, run by Burns Telecommunications Center on the campus of Montana State University, continues to run, serving 71 schools as well as seven American Indian reservations. |
