Summary:A pupil's ? get it' moment can be shared with the class, offering that pupil a chance to share their understanding and direct the attention of the class onto the mathematical aspects of the task that resulted in the sudden clarity. Once a pupil has noticed that the pieces of a jigsaw form a hexagon, for instance, their goal may shift to completing the hexagon, by fair means or foul - subtleties in the mathematics offer little appeal to the pupil who is concerned with completing a practical task before their neighbour!
