Now on some television shows, music has gone from an occasional song pushing forward a montage scene to become a full-fledged character actor. The benefit of the new hybrid of music-embraced television is that it exposes a lot of great music to people who would not otherwise hear it, and the bands walk away with a national audience. This evolution of music and media allows people to identify more with television characters and hear great music at the same time.
