Summary: | Today's senior executives are interested in their computer's ability to process large amounts of strategic data. A strategic evaluation is an accumulation of all available data about an institution. The data are converted to a common computer database, and this database is used to build a model that simulates the effects of future economic conditions on the financial operating results of the institution. The database includes daily financial statements, budgets, and information on company personnel. Cost and productivity are important to any type of strategy development because productivity is the key to the cost equation. Once a realistic baseline has been established, the marketing projection or sales forecast should be added. When completed, the strategic evaluation provides an excellent tool for a sensitivity analysis. Changes in the strategic plan are quickly reflected in the balance sheet and income statement. Strategic evaluation is the process of developing future information based on actual past results. |
