Description
Summary:Vital kitsch, the promotion of commercial energy at the expense of genuine content, of real substance, will be the reality for most Americans in the 21st century, in one form or another, and it will be fueled by the globalization process. Intellectual-mental life is being Starbuckized, condensed into a prefabricated designer look in a way that is reminiscent of that brilliant, terrible film, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (a great metaphor for our time). The US is becoming a nation of pods, for there is very little that can resist the American commercial process.
