Intellectual-mental life is being Starbuckized, condensed into a prefabricated designer look in a way that is reminiscent of that brilliant, terrible film, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (a great metaphor for our time). The US is becoming a nation of pods, for there is very little that can resist the American commercial process.
