Description
Summary:Witzgall et al compare the operations and maintenance experience of three large wastewater treatment plants, two conventional fixed-cover digesters in Sacramento CA and in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the egg-shaped digesters at the Hyperion Treatment Plant in Los Angeles, following approximately 5 years of operating new and upgraded digestion systems. They show that the three facilities are achieving high levels of performance using both mesophilic and thermophilic digestion when fed mixtures of primary and waste biological solids.
