Summary:The Charleston Area Convention Center has 77,000 feet of meeting and exhibition space -- and 1,000 hotel rooms nearby. Myrtle Beach is the heart of the Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of beachfront towns with some 1,800 restaurants and 100 golf courses. The Grand Strand boasts 750,000 square feet of meeting space and nearly 90,000 hotel rooms (7,600 of which are in Myrtle Beach). The Marina Inn at Grand Dunes was spectacular, the meeting space was perfect, and the service is definitely a cut above, says Tish Anderson of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, which met in Myrtle Beach in November. South Carolina's capital city is a vibrant and diverse place. The Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center has 114,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space. South Carolina's great meeting spots are actually scattered all around the state -- and there are some very unique ones outside the larger meeting areas.
