Description
Summary:Amateur gamblers tell themselves it's possible to win that poker game, slot jackpot or lottery. But professional gamblers look at the probability of winning each game and find ways to increase the odds. This distinction also applies to creativity. Like professional gamblers, people need methods that increase their probability of having ideas -- and having them in time to meet their deadlines. As with many creative methods, the author's process begins with hands-on research, followed by brainstorming. For the five-step process, he uses this formula: Creativity = Exploring Freedom, Embracing Life. In the Explore step, you squeeze information and insight into your brain. In the Freedom step, you release the contents of your mind and welcome all ideas. In his seminars, he points out that embracing the best idea happens in two ways: pop up or pull out. In the Life process, you now take the selected idea and add flesh, bone and heart.
