Summary: | President George W. Bush's first months in office ought to retire the hoary saying that there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats. From the standpoint of American business, there are billions of dollars worth of differences. Upon taking office, President Bush immediately blocked any new regulations that had not already gone into effect. He then set his staff to reviewing the new rules. His response has not been knee-jerk, and he plans to allow many of the new regulations to take place. Bush has not limited his review to administrative regulations. And Bush has not limited his policy remake to regulations and legislation. |
