Description
Summary:An international research program that some say is the most comprehensive, intensive, and data-rich scientific study ever undertaken is underway to determine why, not if, the climate is changing and what can be done. The World Meteorological Organization (www.wmo.ch/) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) (www.unep.ch/) established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) (www.ipcc.ch/index.htm) in 1988 to develop a coordinated scientific investigation of climate change at national and global scales. Several other Web sites relating to the study of global climate change, climate change policy and dissemination of information about it are presented.
