Summary:While general antifreeze solutions have long been used when ice forms, many operators now rely on the benefits of specially blended glycol-based liquid de-icers. These products are not only extremely effective as de-icers, but also as ice barriers. When applied to a clear surface, a de-icer works from the bottom up and prevents that surface from refreezing for an extended period of time. Applied proactively, the de-icer will prevent ice buildup altogether.
