Summary: | Every organization is interested in finding out how it is doing. But there is no single measure that will provide a meaningful answer. Continuity in plans, improvements, and customer relations requires balance in measurement as expressed in families of measures. There is a number of factors to consider when designing a family of measures: 1. The family of measures must be linked to the appropriate level of the strategic plan. 2. The family of measures must be well-communicated throughout the organization. 3. The family of measures must be made up of enough members to ensure completeness. 4. The family of measures must be technically sound. 5. The family of measures must be taken and reviewed as often as appropriate. |
