Description
Summary:An entirely new concept in warehouse management systems, partly aimed at capturing the elusive middle market, has been launched by UK vendor LIS. A hosted version of LIS's Dispatcher WMS is being installed at TNT Logistics, apparently the first of its kind. The idea is to allow TNT to provide customers with the benefits of the technology, without having to install a separate system at each new site. For some years, analysts have identified the middle-market as the next growth area for WMS. LIS's recent announcement is precisely that. LIS prices the system by the number of users and the number of transactions. LIS says the software is multi-site and multi-client. TNT is able to customise the hosted software, so it can handle multiple customers simultaneously - each has a secure link into the system.
