Steve Nussbaumer, Essilor's VP in charge of channel management, says the company needed a process to manage its sales force, so in May 2004, the company started looking for an easy way to integrate the process online. TagTeam, a marketing materials management software package offered by Maynard, MA-based Longwood Software Inc, features a visual library of digital and print marketing materials and sales tools, a shopping cart for marketing items and a tracking function to check up on shipments. After implementing the software, phone ordering from the sales team was eliminated. Sales team members could place an order from any computer at any time, day or night.
