Summary: | In the "war for talent," many large companies are now seeking to attract and retain high potential employees by endorsing diversity management, At the same time, corporate social responsibility in terms of diversity (not just gender and ethnicity) in employment has become increasingly important as part of reputation management. Hence many companies are starting to revel theory diversity management values, policies and statistics for gender and ethnic diversity on their corporate web sites. This explores the discourses of diversity management used by top Europe companies to promote diversity. The paper ascertains the definitions of diversity, and that types of diversity mentioned by the companies for eight European countries, finding that gender and ethnicity are the main categories for some countries such as the UK, whilst cultural and international diversity are the terms used in other countries such as France and Germany. |
