Summary: | We know you will not be fooled by Janet Ecker's "smoke and mirrors" amendments to Bill 74. The provisions that force teachers to perform extracurricular activities are still in the bill. The Minister tells us she will not enact the legislation unless teachers withhold these activities as part of job action. This new discretionary power only serves to create a threatening work environment. We need your ongoing involvement to carry on the fight. It is important to build on the public concern for education, so clearly expressed during our hearings on Bill 74, by keeping the public aware of the impact of the Harris government's actions on our classrooms. |
